Kasai/CENI: The NGO Olice International Deplores The Intimidation And Influence Peddling With Which Politicians Gain Access To CENI Operations Facilities.

Through his official statement made public and a copy of which reached the editorial staff of Tokia.cd this Thursday, February 09, 2023, the head of the pool of this international NGO, Mr. Evariste KAMBA denounces what he considers to be influence peddling and of intimidation practiced by politicians when they come to be enrolled in registration centres.

The latter sometimes buy the conscience of the members of the registration centers in order to have their services to the detriment of the other peoples who toil under the sun for whole days without being enrolled.

According to the president of this human rights structure which fights against all kinds of injustice and electoral corruption, the political parties are stakeholders in the ongoing electoral process and are called upon to respect and master the law on registration and on the identification of voters in the DRC in order to avoid the disruption of the said operations, he added.

In his capacity as a defender of human rights, Evariste KAMBA asks all members of registration centers to serve the entire population and to grant the same chances of enlistment to all and takes the opportunity to ask the population to denounce any case of anti-values committed by the members of the registration centers and by the security elements.

In addition, Olice International is asking the CENI to organize itself to allow prisoners and hospitalized patients to be enrolled because it is their right, like any Congolese, to have their voter’s card.

In addition, this democracy support organization which fights against electoral injustice and corruption announces soon its mid-term observation report of its long-term field electoral agents deployed since the beginning of the process launched on January 25, 2023.
